Located in Peyriac-de-Mer in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, this beautiful holiday home is 27 mi from Perpignan and only 8.1 mi from Narbonne. The old cobbled village is very pretty and has two nice restaurants, a few bars, bakery, chemist, and grocery shop. The lake views from the village are stunning and there are safe boardwalks from the village between the lakes. The region by the village is in a protected official area of outstanding natural beauty. The house is over 200 years old and has lots of quirky character. Guests benefit from a sun terrace. 4 bedrooms. A large living and dining area. 3 floors. A washing machine, hob, microwave and an oven can be found in the fully equipped kitchen. A DVD player is provided for the TV (please note there is no TV reception). There is a private bathroom with a bath & separate shower. There is also an ensuite shower to two bedrooms. The area is popular for skiing. A selection of activities are offered in the area, such as hiking, snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing. There are five airports in close proximity to the house. Perpignan - Rivesaltes Airport is 24 mi from the property. Beziers and Carcassonne airports are also very near by.

We have restored our house to a family home which we have enjoyed for many years. It is not a glitzy posh hotel, but a simple stone building dating back to over 200 years of history. It is a lovely 3 story house which has 4 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have a shower and basin en suite. One double bedroom can easily be divided into a two - very good for families with young children. We do not charge for cleaning as most of our visitors like to keep the costs down and clean the house themselves (this includes doing the washing of any linen) - if, however, you would like us to clean the house after your stay, this can be arranged for an additional charge.
We are a family who adore this lovely house and the village of Peyriac de Mer. The locals are all kind and friendly. The local village restaurants offer good value and serve excellent food and wine. There is so much to see and explore by foot or bicycle in Peyriac and the close vicinity of Bages.
The beautiful and safe little village of Peyriac de Mer is situated at the southern end of the Languedoc Roussillon area in the South of France in the magnificently rugged region of the Corbiere. (Over 3,000 sq. km of well-preserved nature!) To the south is the Pyrenean mountains and the frontier of Spain with the Mediterranean Sea stretching out to the east. In this beautiful part of France where the sun shines more than 300 days a year, you are surrounded by the beauty of nature everywhere. Every summer, usually in July, there is an exhibition 'The Art & Culture of the Herault' held in the village. Nearby villages and landscapes are frequently visited by artists attracted by the unspoilt abundant natural beauty. Ornithology is abundant in the region- particularly in Peyriac de Mer where there is a large collection of flamingoes and other birds. There is also a huge wildlife park nearby at Sigean. Fishing is also a practised sport and past-time in the lakes around the area. Windsurfing, cycling, walking, painting and visits to the beach are all within the region. Lots of local exciting markets are available. The village has a bakery, restaurants, grocery & pharmacy.
