OVO Network specialises in beautiful, hand-picked luxury properties for unique stays in the French Alps. Chalet Minnetonka is an OVO Network property. It is a five-bedroom, five-bathroom chalet for 10 near La Clusaz. The OVO Network team’s opinion - Set in a secluded location surrounded by nature, you'll need a car to get around when you stay here, but there are plenty of places to explore. A real bonus is the proximity to the lifts and parking at Crêt du Loup, which means you won't have to tackle the La Clusaz traffic when you want to get on the slopes in the morning. We love the comfortable seating area with cosy sofas and seating in front of the huge picture windows, overlooking the valley. The views are incredible, but they are even better if you step out on to the balcony, or grab a drink and head for the nordic bath! There are five double bedrooms, all with their own bath or shower rooms at Chalet Minnetonka. One of the bedrooms also has two single beds under the eaves, but these may be best reserved for children. There's also an extra single pull-out bed in one of the other double bedrooms. On the practical side, Chalet Minnetonka also has a useful laundry room as well as a ski room with a heated boot rack. There's plenty of space to park your cars outside the chalet. The land at the front of the chalet is a great place for children to play or sledge in the winter. However, it's not enclosed, so children will need to be supervised. This stunning chalet is the perfect base for a group wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts. At the top of a private road, you won't be affected by passing traffic, but you will enjoy peace and quiet, as well as stunning views over the valley. The shops, bars, restaurants and lifts of La Clusaz are less than 5km away, but you're just a couple of minutes' drive from the lifts at Crêt du Loup, where there's also a popular restaurant. The Aravis ski area has 220km of pistes and 95 lifts across La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand and La Croix Fry, so there's plenty of scope for skiers of all levels. Cross-country skiers will find a great choice of trails on the Beauregard plateau, and there's plenty for non-skiers too -  La Clusaz has an ice rink, swimming pool and cinema, or you could try sledging, snowshoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. In the summer you can hike into the Col des Aravis, or let the telecabine take you and your bike to the top of the mountain, so you can come back down at your own pace. Some of the many activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding. The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with tracks and paths, so why not take a picnic and make a day of it. Later, you can make the most of the long summer evenings at a local restaurant, or fire up the barbecue in the garden at Chalet Minnetonka and cook up a feast.
