Odsherred is a geopark. Take a trip along the Tumulus Road and experience the Ice Age landscape, the Stone Age barrows and the Bronze Age tumuli, the Hempel Glass Museum, and the Odsherred Museum, which has a copy of the sun chariot found in the Trundholm Mose marsh and now exhibited in the National Museum in Copenhagen. Visit the pocket stone ? the work of a troll or a geological wonder? The castle Næsholm Borg is located on a small island in the lake Nygård Sø between Højby and Nykøbing Sj. stands. Hovvig Nature Reserve is a man-made wetland with a rich bird life. Children will love seeing the many fire engines at the Odsherred Fire Museum, or you can take a seal safari from the harbor in Rørvig. From Rørvig, just under 17 km away, there is a ferry connection to Hundested, and from there it is just under an hour's drive to Copenhagen. On the Kattegat coast north of Nykøbing there are good swimming opportunities.
