The house is a typical Black Forest town house and was built in 1932. It was called 'The Villa' in Freudenstadt as it was the first one that has balconies stretching around the corners. During the war it gave refuge to nearly 50 people. Each room housed one family. In 2020, the house was fully refurbished and brought back to its original charm by re-instating many of the original features like the traditional Black Forest facade (schindles), the original flooring. The green colour on the facade was chosen to reflect the Black Forest but to yet give it a contemporary look.
We are a multi-cultural family, Italian, Sri Lanka, English and German routes. We live with a very gentle and kind labrador on the top two floors. We love meeting new people from around the world. We like cooking Italian, Sri Lankan, German and other international food. We enjoy cooking for guests on request. We offer Italian and Sri Lankan home cooked food. We are also keen tennis players and we enjoy mixing with others to play some social tennis.
Freudenstadt is a beautiful town in the heart of the Black Forest and is a popular and lively holiday and Kneipp health resort. With the Konus guest card, which you receive with the tourist tax (2.80 euros per adult/day), you get free travel on buses and trains throughout the Black Forest and also free or discounted entry to numerous leisure and cultural facilities in Freudenstadt and throughout Black Forest. There are plenty of activities possible in and around the area, from walking to shopping, from tennis to swimming, from horse riding to tree climbing and more. Our property is located just 5 minutes walk from Germany’s biggest market square and just five minutes walk from the forest. Within walking distance are also the cinema, the indoor and outdoor swimming pool, the tennis courts, the golf course and much more. Ski lifts and cross country skiing is within a short driving distance.
