Very near to the volcano and the start of the hiking trail, amazing view. Great hosts, the food is amazing. We had breakfast and dinner there. The room is very clean and tidy. The village is very quiet and safe. Amazing for a walk.

Amazing place in the middle of the caldera. Cecilio the owner was very helpful with information about hiking and cooked great home made food every evening, next to great local wine. A month after the trip, I appreciate a lot of these things in retrospect. The entire village was destroyed by the eruption of the volcano, and this guesthouse was built from scratch with great effort.

Wonderful stay in a lava stone funco (traditional house). The room and facilities are simple but offer everything you need. The host Cesario was very welcoming and his wife Helena a wonderful cook. As there are not many facilities (restaurants, shops) in the area, I opted to eat dinner at the guesthouse. The homemade meals by Helena were easily one of the best I had in the whole of Cabo Verde. Also, excellent breakfast, respectful of my dietary wishes. Hot water was a bit sketchy but they offered me showers in another room. The guesthouse offers direct access to the lavafields, with wonderful walks in the area of access to the vulcano(es). I had a wonderful stay here and can highly recommend it.

Cannot say enough great things about our stay. Wonderful, friendly host family. Delicious dinner at a fair price. Breakfast is perfect before hiking. The stars are amazing at night and sleeping in the quiet of the caldera is a unique experience. Really really wonderful two nights.

Very enjoyable stay with Helena (for the dinner/breakfast, even the 5:30 breakfast) and Cecilio, who helped me a lot with all my questions: arranged a guide (to share) for the Pico, organized my stay in Mosteiros, did reserve the aluguer from Sao Filipe. Nice typical round room even with a warm shower in the afternoon (after the sun has heated up the water).

This was the best and by the way also the cheapest accommodation at CV. Basic but very nice and clean room with running water and electricity. WiFi was strong and very well working in the dining area, we could also catch a weaker signal in our room. There was always a plenty of food. Breakfast is included and makes a perfect start of the day. Dinner is extra, it’s cheap and really good. The staff is unbelievably helpful and can help to arrange the transportation, the guide and anything else.
