Tanja Lagoon Camp is located on the edge of a wild coastal lagoon, surrounded by the spotted gum forests of Mimosa Rocks National Park on the Sapphire Coast of NSW. Featuring 4 luxury self-contained safari tents, 2 exquisite eco-cabins and a versatile meeting place for groups.

Bushwalk right from your front door through the Mimosa Rocks National Park forest amongst the spotted gums and cycads to the beach where Tanja Lagoon meets the ocean. It is a magic beach. At the northern end there is a surf break and deep pools between the rocks to explore. At the southern end is the sand bar that keeps the lagoon from going out with the tide. It is a lovely place for a long walk on the beach. There are two marked tracks from the camp to the beach, both about 20 minute walk. Canoe or Kayak on the lagoon. Explore around the Island, head to the sand bar at Middle Beach or if you have no need for a destination, just float with the pelicans and swans. Guests are welcome to use the canoes and kayaks free of charge at any time. We recommend early morning or late afternoon. Tathra is 12 kilometres to the south of Tanja. Here you can surf and swim on a beach with surf patrol watching out for your safety if you swim between the flags. You can enjoy lunch at the historic Tathra Wharf with a lovely view of the Mimosa Rocks National Park Coastline. You can also enjoy spectacular views, great lunch or dinner and a local brew at the beautifully refurbished Tathra Hotel. Kianniny Boat Ramp is a Tathra local favourite spot to swim and have a picnic. It is also the start of The Kangarutha Track. There is also a lovely headland walk from Kianniny to the Tathra Wharf. Tathra has fantastic mountain bike tracks. Try out the Bundadung trail network. If you don’t have a bike visit Tathra Beach and Bike for all the quality gear and information you need.
