"Haus Tulpe" is an interesting house to feel cosy, where the wood creaks from time to time (or more). The oldest part was built about 1895, the rest of the house in stages. We offer three simple bedrooms with a sink in it. Separate toilet and shower is shared. There is also a kitchen/washing room and a garden shared with other guests. Please keep it clean for the ones who share it with you! We also live there. The house is old, so there are broken tiles, holes in the wall, Stubborn stains and rubber residues which cannot be removed by regular cleaning as well as tiny animals, with trespassing through small cracks. But even though it's a charming house. When you look outside the window you see the mountains nearby. The next lake is Wolfgangsee, 20 minutes by foot, it is a nice walk. Winter or summer, spring or autumn - every season has its special charm in this gorgeous environment. Hiking, biking, swimming, skiing, and so on...there are many leisure time activities.

In Haus Tulpe - with means House tulip - people of all generations and nations meet. Our family is a typical austrian family, open hearted and open minded, three generations at one place - Anita (german and english speaking), Michael (german, english, french speaking), mum and grandma Hannelore (german speaking) and our almost adult children (german, english speaking). Our guests come from all over the world and we enjoy short chats with them, but mostly we are otherwise occupied. We love to find our place full of the excitement of coming and going, seeing new things and also beeing a place to relax, enjoying the beauty of the area where people slow down, calm down and leave all cares behind.

The main city Salzburg and also Hallstatt are about one hour to go with bus and/or train.The bus stop is nearby our place - less than minutes on foot. You have to change puplic transportation in Bad Ischl to go to Hallstatt. Bad Ischl it is a beautiful little city, if you have time I recommend not just to change transportation there. Go for a walk at the river or for a cup of coffee and feel the ancent flair, because you walk on paths where famous Austrian people like Queen Sissi or the musicians Bach, Strauß and others enjoyed their holidays :) The next grocery store, the lake and the center of Strobl is about 20 minutes to walk. And the area is surrounded by mountains lakes and interesting villages like St. Wolfgang, St. Gilgen, Fuschl and so on...
