I recommend ear plugs for the night as there are cars passing and the walls are thin. The hostel guests behaved very respectful when I was there so I slept very well.

Staff were great, location was central, beautiful building! It is right on Rua Santa Maria with lots of restaurants so there is noise, but it's a hum of talking / music so not too difficult to sleep through

At the accommodation each room is fitted with bed linen and towels. The room and bathroom were very good and spacious. We did not meet the staff as we arrived pretty late. But the staff from the bar downstairs were AMAZING!!! They showed us the way, served even when they were closing and even invited us to a local celebration ! 🤩

This apartment is absolutely perfect! Great location close to the center and supermarket, safe area. Big apartment! Super fresh and clean, new. Balcony and a great rooftop! Dishwasher and washing machine! Great communication with the hosts. Great wifi. Would recommend to anyone!
The most comfortable bed I think I’ve ever slept in. Great sound proofing… hardly heard a thing from outside or within the hotel. Great location and lovely staff.
Great location, easy access to property. We were picked up at the airport by the host herself(15 euros), so we had no trouble getting there. Plenty of space, safe location, main facilities provided, easy communication with the owners. The host also gave us a few important tips as to the best restaurants and supermarkets. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine, some cookies, tea and coffee, which was nice.
The facility is in the beautiful old town, full of typical restaurants and characteristic places. The dormitory is comfortable, the bathrooms are always free and clean, the kitchen has everything you need, and the common areas are excellently maintained. The girl at the reception is very friendly and willing to answer any question and need. Thanks to all the staff at Santa Maria hostel.
The apartment is in a great location 5-10 minutes from the center and is in a safe area, close to the supermarket in the shopping center. I highly recommend reserving a parking space, which is a 5-minute walk from the apartment. Our apartment was quite large and had blinds, but you have to be aware that the apartment is located in a narrow street, so there was no nice view. Plus is also a washing machine and good contact with the staff.

I had recently stayed 5 nights in 29 Madeira Hostel. It was a truly fantastic experience. First and foremost, the staff are exceptional, especially Andrea with her genuine willingness to assist with any inquiries or concerns. The dormitory rooms were clean, comfortable, well-maintained and the beds were cozy. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness maintained throughout the hostel, including the shared bathrooms and common areas. Great location within walking distance of major attractions, restaurants, and public transportation.
This was the best Hostel I have ever stayed at. Great location to base yourself out of to explore the island. Great community spirit at the hostel and there is always greats chatting available in the evening if one desires!
Great hostel!! Super friendly, sociable (if you want to be), clean, great location, comfy beds, very chilled place. Lots of solo travellers, nice outdoor space to have a beer in. One of the best hostels I have ever been to!
