All units in the hostel are fitted with a flat-screen TV. At the accommodation every room is equipped with bed linen and towels. The best sleep I had the entire trip in NZ, with heated mattress and the softest pillows. Ivorytowers Accommodation is situated opposite Westland National Park rainforest and mountains, just a 4-minute walk from Fox Glacier Village. Guests can enjoy a hot tub surrounded by native bush land, a sauna and free WiFi. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfy and we had a great night.
Franz Josef
Glow Worm Accommodation is located in the center of Franz Josef and offers a range of shared dormitory rooms and private en suite rooms. Free unlimited WiFi is included.
All rooms include free breakfast in the morning and a free vegetable soup in the evening as well as BBQ facilities and free use of the spa pool.

The pods feature a privacy curtain, a power point and a USB port. Chris the manager + receptionist of Chateau Backpackers & Motels is just a GREAT HOST! Efficient, kind, generous and prompt to help us with all we needed. We sincerely appreciate his promptness to send us per post on his own costs a super important object (professional working badge) we forgot in our room at the Chateau when leaving to our following accommodation in Queenstown. Definitely awesome!!! We shall certainly come back to Franz Josef when again in New Zealand and we shall reserve once more with Chateau Backpackers & Motels! Last but not least, the daily 6.00 pm Free Soup was incredibly delicious and nutritious :-) Happy New Year Chris + Chateau Backpackers & Motels Team

The Undertakers Backpackers is located in Kumara, 20 km from Hokitika and 20 km from Greymouth.
You can play darts at this hostel, and the area is popular for cycling. Kumara Store and Cafe is a 2-minute walk from The Undertakers Backpackers.

Very cool place - great facilities and owner is a nice guy.As a recent retiree who with my partner is touring S.I. on a budget I have refound backpackers and they don't let you down. This place was no exception, clean, comfy, great kitchen facilities.
A crowded and obviously popular Hostel in the heart of town ... Which turned out to be small but full of tourists... The staff at the hostel were friendly, helpful and informative... Showers were hot, Bed Comfortable and a well equipped kitchen ... Great mix of backpackers, workers and tourists were staying in this really nice Hostel

Surprisingly good free breakfast including cereal, pancakes and toast. Other amenities too, and well set up for socialising. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Upgraded youth hostel in Franz Josef. Very good value for money. We were travelling as a family of 4 and the beds were very comfortable with curtains around the bunks so individuals can close themselves off from lights etc. Reasonably quiet considering the amount of people here. Towels and sheets were provided. Staff were very informative.
Second time staying at the Global Village, and it's still one of the best hostels in NZ. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's got good vibes and it's quiet. It's a well run ship.
