Onetangi
Situated in Onetangi, 300 metres from Onetangi Beach, Waiheke Backpackers Hostel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. Nice, calm location right next to the beach, other parts of island easily reachable by bus. Everything you need, dorm was spatious and not crammed.

- is a “survey” question I am being asked when there are no cities on Waiheke; and furthermore I used I used an airplane, an Uber, a ferry, a taxi, and a rental e-bike all in the span of 24 hours to arrive!
And I LOVED it! I had some cell phone SIM card problems (my own mistakes), but there was good WiFi on the property and the people on premises were so kind and
Although I had rented an e-bike to get myself back and forth to the Beach and beyond (traveling solo), I found the walk to the beach my first day, a lovely and not too difficult 15 minute walk!
Oneroa
Featuring a garden and a shared lounge, Hekerua Lodge Backpackers Hostel Waiheke Island is located in Oneroa, 600 metres from Little Oneroa Beach and 800 metres from Oneroa Beach. The hostel provides an outdoor swimming pool, evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. Really nice staff. Facilities are good and a big outside area.

Had a great stay at Tawa Lodge!! The room was quaint and cosy, and also nice and warm when it was chilly outside. The view from our room was stunning and it included breakfast which was lovely to eat in the corridor and overlook the sea. The staff were nice and friendly and accommodating. Great location as only a short walk into town and to the beach (around 10 mins). Even though the bathroom was shared it was never an issue and always free when I needed it. Would recommend Tawa Lodge and I would stay here again when visiting the island!

Great location right next to the beach, dairy, takeaways and pizza truck. Rustic little Kiwi bach with comfy beds, a fireplace and excellent communicative hosts.
It is very comfortable with a great layout & comfy bed. The host was lovely & came & said hello when we arrived. Great location as walking distance to Oneroa township (down a hill… but be warned, you will need to walk up it back!)
The hotel room was great, very clean, comfortable bed and the inclusive breakfasts were delicious. The staff were very friendly. Great location and so handy with the Explorer bus stops close by.

Place looked new and clean for a backpackers hostel. Comfortable solo room for me.
It was the best hostel bed that I have slept in, was extremely clean. Stuff was lovely they even let us have an early check in while we just wanted to leave our bags to go to beach. The facility is really well, kitchen has everything to cook, even gas bbq. There are lots of benches for outside sitting. There is a lounge with lots of games even with ukulele :) The ensuite room have a fan for summer which really worked well for us. Definetly recommended to everyone.
