HI Bergen Hostel Montana is situated up the hillside of Mount Ulriken, about 3.6 km from Bergen City Centre and easily accessed by public transportation. A grocery store and different hiking trails are located next to the hostel. Free parking is available for our guests. Staying at Bergen Hostel Montana was a blast, there was a vibrant community of travellers from all across the world, events (done by volunteers) were running all the time like BBQ, coffee hour and tours of the city, the views of Bergen from outside is amazing and access to Ulriken is very close. The bed in the dormitory room was very comfortable and clean, the shower was excellent and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff (for the most part) was very helpful and considerate

Was travelling alone and felt extremely safe. I stayed in a 10 women dormitory, bed were comfortable and the private bathroom was cleaned. There also was a locker for each person, no need for your own lock, they use keys.
- The view over Bergen was just amazing - Standard HI (Hostelling International) hostel, having everything you would expect for a HI hostel - Good breakfast included in the price - I guess the cheapest accommodation in Bergen - Huge kitchen - Clean toilets and showers - Locker for each bed, as I stayed in the dorm. Bring your own padlock or rent one at the hostel

The location is incredible with a beautiful view of Bergen and the surrounding mountains. The volunteers who work with the hostel to provide high quality daily tours/trips are a brilliant addition. Solo travelling along with so many others there meant it was an amazing way to meet new people. Positioned right on the path to Mt Ulriken means you can get to the highest point in Bergen without any issues.
It was our first experience in hostel. Usually my budget allow more comfortable hotels, not not in Bergen, Norway :) It was relatively OK. I feared it might be worse. but generally it was a nice stay at goods room with good breakfast, which is WOW for hostel. Nice views from room window on the city
The hostel is very conveniently located, just a few minutes away on foot from the historical port of the city. The facilities are quite well organized and they are ideal for on-budget travellers.
Amazing facilities - great kitchen, the best hostel breakfast I’ve ever had and it was included in the price! comfy beds and very clean facilities, staff were also super friendly and helpful! great location for hikes and overall great value for money
This hostel is perfectly located, in the centre of Bergen. The staff is really nice and welcoming, the common areas were clean, the kitchen and dining room really spacious. There are lockers in each dormitory, and a free locked storage room. Everything was perfect, this hostel is very safe and calm, excellent place to discover Bergen !
The hostel is walking distance from Bergen centre and easy to find. Check in was easy enough and receptionist was polite and friendly. The room was a standard 10 person hostel room, lockable lockers were provided and each bed had a little light and plug socket. Toilets and showers were acceptable but nothing special. For the price it was decent enough but nothing special. 7/10 would stay again if needed cheap stay in Bergen.
Access to the kitchen, delicious breakfast, cheap price, nice staff, good location (easy to reach by bus from city centre, close to Ulriken mountian), shop in the neighborhood. There are also some activities in living room to meet new people (etc. karaoke). We were satisfied with our stay in this hostel :)
