Yoichi the owner is very nice and knows his trade. Plus, impossible to get a better location if you're planning to do the Kumano Kodo. Totally recommended!

Though the whole place is not big, it has pretty much everything, even a small stove to cook. The location is directly opposite of Kii-Katsuura Station, you can even check the departure monitor from the bedroom window. Also the community in the hostel was great: when we were there university students temporarily worked on their business ideas there, introducing us to wood carving, painting and their self-made muesli bars. Talking to them was very fun and made possible forming connections to Japanese people, which can be usually hard for foreign tourists.

The property is set 50 metres from Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine and just a minute's walk away from Hongu Taisha Mae bus stop. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Excellent accommodation! To my surprise, the owner's husband is a guide, the couple helped me a lot. And the husband called me plastic bag man, fantastic experience!

Also they had a super powerful AC unit which made going into the room very comfortable.
