Niseko Tabi-tsumugi Backpackers 1 stars

Kutchan

A 10-minute walk from JR Kutchan Train Station, Niseko Backpackers Hostel Tabi-Tsumugi offers simple accommodation with extra-long beds. A free-use kitchen with microwave, a lounge and a free-use internet terminal are featured.

All rooms at Tabi-Tsumugi Niseko Backpackers Hostel have Japanese futon bedding and shared showers. Guests can choose a private room or a dormitory room. The house is beautiful and cosy feeling and Ryo keeps the whole place super clean and well maintained. The beds were comfy and rooms were well heated. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped with all you need. The location was good, near to the JR Kutchan station, a supermarket and a 7-11. Ryo also provides daily morning shuttle to Hirafu, which is highly appreciated. Most remarkably Ryo is a friendly and helpful host, and a wonderful cook too :) This is one of the best hostel we have stayed in!

My Ecolodge 2 stars

Hirafu, Niseko

Located a 10-minute bus ride from JR Kutchan Railway Station, My Ecolodge offers simple yet cosy rooms with free WiFi. The property offers free private parking and shuttle service to local ski areas from December to March. Activities including golfing and skiing can be enjoyed at the Niseko Village located a 12-minute drive from the property.

Twin and double rooms come with an en suite bathroom, while quadruple rooms have shared bathrooms. Some rooms have bunk beds with a power outlet and a reading light. I like that it is very clean, reasonably priced and accessible. Bus stops right in front of the property. I love the complimentary breakfast, simple and fervently prepared by the Chef. The staff are great and accommodating, too.

Boken Kazoku 1 stars

Kutchan

Surrounded by nature, Boken Kazoku is a traditional 90-year-old building with a terrace and a playground with mountain views. It offers a range of water sports, concierge services and free-use bicycles. A free shuttle is available from/to JR Kutchan Station and Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski Resort. The bus stop to go to Rusutsu Ski Resort is in front of the property. I guess I didn’t read the description but it’s a really cool property, it’s an old school turned into a hostel. The owners were extremely nice and communicated everything well. There a bus stop for both directions at the entrance making it very accessible to either town. When I got hurt and had to go to the hospital the grandma at the property who used to be a nurse helped re bandage my ankle after the hospital didn’t do a good job and everyone checked on me every day. It was really sweet.
