Quietly situated within 15 acres of ancient woodland, the YHA Brecon Beacons is in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Dating back to the 19th century, this farmhouse hostel has access to scenic countryside walks and overlooks the River Tarell, towards Y Gyrn. The atmosphere here was unbeatable! The facilities are very charming–I stayed in a dorm room in the main lodge, which felt safe and homey in a rugged way, but there were also several other more unique options including pods and tent cabins. The location is also hard to beat–it's incredibly picturesque, accessible by public transportation, and major attractions like Pen y Fan are accessible by foot. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and there were so many resources for travelers to use to plan their trips. Free parking was also a bonus! My one regret is that I couldn't stay longer!
Llansantffread
In the Brecon Beacons National Park, the YHA Danywenallt offers a restaurant and a bar. Situated along superb walking routes, the converted farmhouse is surrounded by wooded slopes, high peaks, and waterfalls.

First room we were allocated was awful. No better than a youth hostel accommodation even though they knew my husband has mobility problems. However when I said we couldn't possibly stay in there we were found alternative accommodation . Nothing was toomuch trouble for the staff, they were amazing. Fantastic breakfast as usual.
Great location, had everything we needed and was very well cleaned. Perfect for a cheap weekend in the beacons. Thankyou
Great location in the heart of Crickhowell, well placed for a tour of other nearby hostelries. Room was very clean and big bed. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner and the staff were excellent too.
Lovely quirky place and reminded me of how youth hostels use to be- comfy, warm and good facilities to cook your own food. The couple who ran this hostel were excellent and very helpful. The bed was comfy and food shop next to hostel was added bonus.

Great location for us and fairly cheap per night
Great location, Courtney was the friendliest person when I arrived (As were the morning staff the next day) and they accommodated me very late as I'm a wedding photographer. Rooms are basic but very clean and great value for money, especially with breakfast included. If you are looking for somewhere to stay and have a budget, I would HIGHLY recommend. Beds were SUPER comfy and as I knew I'd only be going to bed and off again early, it was perfect for me.

Certainly clean and as tidy as can be expected for the budget. Wife and I were on tour and happy to have parking for our motorcycles. Certainly fine for just guys who don't need any frills. Great location for a walk into town.
It's a Youth Hostel so you don't expect a 5 star hotel but it was exactly what I hoped. Friendly helpful staff, clean, food was good as was the beer. 4 friends sharing a room with bunk beds.
