JUST SLEEP Hostel

Leith, Edinburgh

In a prime location in the Leith district of Edinburgh, JUST SLEEP Hostel is located 1.7 km from Royal Yacht Britannia, 1.9 km from Edinburgh Playhouse and 2.5 km from Edinburgh Waverley station. The property is set 3 km from Royal Mile, 3.2 km from Camera Obscura and World of Illusions and 3.3 km from The Real Mary King's Close. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and free WiFi. I chose to stay at this hostel while searching for a shared flat and job in Edinburgh. My priority was a calm and peaceful environment, and Just Sleep Hostel exceeded my expectations. With a limited number of rooms, the atmosphere was pleasantly unhurried. The rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces were impeccably tidy and clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, though the fridge was a bit small. However, guests were considerate and mindful of each other's space when storing their items, and this environment seems to be fostered by their management. This thoughtful approach by both the kitchen facilities and their management enhanced my overall cooking and dining experience. The location was ideal for me—not too close to the city center but not too far either. It usually took me around 30 minutes on foot to reach the city center. The hostel is situated in a quiet area, close to various attractions like a botanical garden (20 minutes on foot) and the shoreline (20 minutes away). The owner and staff played a significant role in making my stay great. Although the owner wasn't always present at the hostel, he regularly came, making it easy for guests to approach him with any concerns. He was also responsive online, providing assistance promptly. There was also a helpful staff member staying on-site. She was friendly, tidy, and attentive, always addressing guests' needs and offering advice on sightseeing in Edinburgh. Initially booking just a week, I decided to extend my stay due to the positive experiences mentioned above. I highly recommend this hostel to prospective guests planning longer stays, as well as short-term guests.
