The building has a fascinating history and is really well set-up even for longer stays, with a great shared kitchen with pretty much everything you need to cook your own meals, en suite toilets plus a shared shower, very comfortable beds and access to a beautiful lakeside. WiFi was fast, with solid signal in our room. Our host was very friendly and told us loads about the site, and we were also allowed to use the sauna by the lakeside. Our dog was very welcome at no extra charge. Off-road parking is available out the front of the building.

Was in a good location, Helsinki is small but only about 20 minute walk tops to the attractions in any direction. Free tea and coffee The best thing about this hostel are the staff. It’s 24/7 staffed and all staff were kind and helpful in any requests. I asked questions about public transport, they let me store luggage outside of check in/ check out and also allowed me to check in early. They were really good at cleaning the bathroom/kitchen beds too.
