I usually hate shared bathrooms. so we were unsure whether we should book or not, but the standard and quality was so good that we didn't mind. Luckily, that there were not many guests, so we never had to wait for a bathroom, cutlery, or a free table. Wifi was great too. We wanted initially to stay only for a night and move somewhere else but after visiting the place, we decided to stay one more night. We didn't even need to change the room in spite of spontaneous booking - which is great.

The area is popular for cycling. Kiel is 16 km from Peanuts Hostel & Meer, while Weissenhäuser Strand is 50 km away. Very nice hostel stay, the hostel is nicely remote. It is very clean and cosy. The owner is very friendly and you can see that she loves her work a lot. Around the hostel are nice spots to relax, there were plenty of tables and chairs. The beach is close by (3km, quick drive but also walkable). Bring some food yourself, the kitchen is well equipped. Coffee and tea was provided. There is a basket with some drinks and snacks to buy if you have forgotten some, bring cash. There is no WiFi, but reception is good and there are loads of games, books, puzzles etcetera to entertain yourself.

Built in 1890, rooms at the Blue Doors Hostel Altstadt Rostock are spacious and brightly furnished. All include lockers, reading lamps and a seating area, and there are shared bathroom facilities in the hallway. I was there only one night for my Fachsprachprüfung on the next day. For others, who are interested in FSP, this is very decent hotel, but please dont forget to take ear plug (in my case the hotel was super quite, but there will be not always the case). The bed is super comfy and there is a table in the room. The location is superb.
