Had the park, with the company of birds, the waves, and crabs basically all to myself, except for another person, way at a distance. Many tall trees around the hostel, with howling monkeys as alarm clocks. Saw sloth for two days. Playa Uvita bus stop from San Jose, Dominical or Quepos (not Tracopa terminal or town center) is 10 minutes walk, turning from main road and walking all the way to Playa la Colonia (aka Chaman) park entrance.

This is a great option if you want to disconnect and being in middle of the nature. Very close to the beach and 20 mins to drive to the town.

At the hostel, all rooms are equipped with a terrace. At Surf Shack Room #1 each room is fitted with air conditioning and a private bathroom. The location was fairly quiet as there wasn't much road traffic going by. There was AC and the shower had hot water, which my wife loved. The kitchen was an ample size and had everything we needed; even Tupperware to keep our extra food so we didn't leave it in the pans. The rooms didn't feel cramped and had shelf space to put our things. The beds we're comfy and the towels were soft. The covered common area outside the kitchen was a great place to eat and for my wife to work. We would stay here again.

At La Muñequita Lodge 2 - culture & nature experience the rooms are equipped with a private bathroom with a shower. The owners Heiner y Jenny are exceptional people- super welcoming and happy people. I was there with my two little boys and we all loved it! They have animals on the farm and beautiful wildlife and great nature all around. Plus Jenny is a fantastic cook!
