Situated in a castle dating back to around 1200, Youth Hostel Mariastein-Rotberg offers accommodation in a unique setting. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and you can play table tennis on site. it was just … a dream! a modest but unforgettable castle experience:) Thomas, the castle manager, was super kind and welcoming. the facilities are practically new - but combined so carefully with the old heart of the castle. the beds are comfortable, there are board games to choose from, and even during the colder months the heating system works great. would recommend a thousand times! (just keep in mind that it requires walking up some flights of stairs to reach the premises) so grateful for this experience ❤️
Solothurn
The ultra-modern Solothurn Youth Hostel is conveniently located a 5-minute stroll from the train station. The hostel offers free Wi-Fi and a panoramic rooftop terrace. Here, guests can enjoy sleek interior design, housed in a steel and glass building that was originally a trading and customs house. Great location right on the river, and triple pane windows kept out the late night noise. Room was for 8 but we were only 3 so it worked out. Breakfast was very good; first time I've ever had a large baked pretzel for breakfast!

A large, clean room and bathroom in a great location. A short walk to the train station (5 to 10 minutes) on the banks of the river. It was a short walk across the bridge to the Old Town. Had a part view of the river and some of the Old Town monuments from my room. The food at the on-site restaurant was also excellent!
Excellent location, five minutes' walk away from Olten station and ten minutes' walk from the city centre Room was very clean with good air conditioning and plenty of electric sockets, shower was reliable Breakfast was perfectly adequate for a budget hotel
Great location and really easy check in.
I really needed a place to stay in Solothurn and other choices were not available at short notice. This hotel was available and I appreciated that. This hotel is in a great location and has the potential to be charming. It is very clean.
