Guests at HI Lake Louise Alpine Centre can relax in the common room with a fireplace and TV. A small library is available for guests to choose from, and a sauna is also available. Phenomenal hostel- everything you expect from a hostel plus a fantastic restaurant, garden/outdoor area and ideal location. The dorm rooms are small but fine, a toilet inside and showers outside of the dorm. Each bunk bed with USB charger, light. In my dorm room the other travellers were considerate and it was quiet, slept well. You can sign up for shuttle bus (MPT -Mountain Park Transportation) to the lakes at the hostel, although I would recommend doing that online (and early!) - Moraine Lake is especially busy during tourist season. The bus stop for this shuttle bus (there are several) is right outside, hostels parking lot. If you just want to visit Lake Louise lakeside the public bus might be the cheaper option, but a bit of a walk to this station. You can either use the kitchen (buy food at the grocery store near visitor information, 8min walk) or enjoy the restaurant’s breakfast options.

It’s a good place to stay in Banff, you can take just one bus (line 2) to go there. There is something really good about this place they give to you free ticket for public transportation within the city (lines 1-2-4 - 6) you can save money.

See the fine print for more details. I loved this hostel, I'd dare to say it was the best one I've ever stayed in. We were traveling with a group of 4, so we had a room for ourselves. The kitchen is fully equipped, and it's quite big. There's plenty of space to chill or work, either outside or inside. There are books, board games, billiards, some musical instruments, so you won't get bored. You can also wash (est. $2) clothes and dry (free) them if you need. The hostel is set in a wooden house, and it also adds a lot to its vibe :).

The location is so perfect with the view. Its surrounded by stream and mountains. We enjoyed the sauna. The property was clean and the host was friendly and explained everything about the stay which was clear.

Cute and remote location, very cosy and good atmosphere, feels like home, chimney is nice and warm, you can tell people staying there feel like a family/ friend group. Very clean, all the equipment you need, comfy bed.

The very friendly and helpful staff and the people who stayed there made my experience perfect!

Is safe, easy to find and close to Banff. The place was clean, the bedrooms were nice and comfortable.

Shared toilet facilities are outhouse facilities (there are no showers and no running hot water). The hostel is well-run by Lars, who gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The 12-bed dorms are actually split into two parts with 6 beds each which provided a more private and quiet experience than expected. With no electricity, no phone reception, and only 1 hour wifi per day, the hostel forces you to disconnect and instead enjoy the nature, the sauna, and each others' company. With only around 20km to Lake Louise, it is the ideal base for exploring some of the highlights in Banff.
