Everything was clean, comfortable and convenient, and the owners just welcomed us in like family. We spent the Christmas weekend here, and they even cooked all us guests an elaborate and traditional Palestinian Christmas Eve dinner at a fantastically good price. We were recommended this place by a friend, and we highly recommend Bethlehem City Hostel to anyone.

Located in Jerusalem, 500 metres from Western Wall, New Citadel Hostel offers air-conditioned rooms and a terrace. Located around 600 metres from Dome of the Rock, the hostel with free WiFi is also 1.5 km away from Garden of Gethsemane. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, a shared lounge and currency exchange for guests.

It is the best accomodation your money can buy, a real bargain. The staff is absolute wonderful, warm, smiling and welcoming. The rooms and common areas are the cleanest you can find in a hostel. And as the others says the view from the roof are amazing, we can't had enough from. And it's not as complicate to arrive : from Jaffa Gate you go straight and when you see a little place on your right hand called Olt City Swarma [ or so :) ] turn right, climb few stairs (even first seems to be a dead end) then turn left and in few meters you'll find the hostel on your right hand.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

This was my second stay at the hostel as it was one of the cheapest places to stay in Bethlehem for Christmas, and is located right near where the Christmas Eve parade starts. The host provided a traditional home-cooked Christmas Eve meal for a reasonable price.

A fantastic hostel with a warm Palestinian welcome in a great location. Local bus stops are close by and the owner is very knowledgeable so it’s a great place to locate yourself if you want to travel to other areas in the West Bank. It’s also in a nice neighbourhood, so safe if you fancy heading out for food or drinks in the evening but has a good vibe within if not. Quite the Little Star of Bethlehem!
