Perfect place, so worth the small upgrade in price from a hostel. The whole hotel is spotless and new, every small detail is taken care of. Great location, super comfortable beds, cheap home made food available, nice bathrooms. Staff are nice and helpful too.

Things I like: 1. The staff were very nice. Anton, the adminstrator, is polite and kind. He gave me medicine (Theraflu and Paracetamol) when I got sick during my stay without me asking. He did it out of genuine concern. He accommodates reasonable requests. He also speaks English. Kembert and the other lady who work at Reception are nice and friendly but they only speak Russian. 2. The owners are also polite and friendly to the guests. Anton, the owner, responds well on the Booking.com messenger. 3. There is privacy for guests. 4. The shared kitchen is clean and guests can cook their meals. 5. The location is great. It is within walking distance of the bus stops. The views of the mountain and Sairan Lake (currently being rehabilitated) are stunning. 6. Guests can do their laundry. 7. It is safe.

This a new hostel in Almaty and deserves attention and support.Its clean,spacious,nice hosts,close to Moscow metro station and 20 meters from a great mall that you can buy everything..in addition if you come or go to the airport the bus stop is 200 mts from.the hostel.so no need to get taxi..just head outside of the airport and you will find bus 92 to rake you to hostel.you have to stop outside Moskva mall. Of course the bus is till 22pm..so if you arrive at the airport later you need a yandex taxi..for abou 8 EUR. I had a great roommate Sergei that we went to the Ice ring.The hostel has secure lockers inside the dormitory to place your valuables.. Highly recommended.
