Located in the market town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Denton House Hostel is just a 5-minute stroll from Keswick Leisure Centre. With free WiFi and free parking, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and Cumberland Pencil Museum are also less than a mile away.

The location was beautiful! It was across the street from the Greta River and right beside the old rail line that is now a walk/run/bike trail. It is a 5-10 minute walk into the centre of town and just over 10 minutes to Derwent Lake. My bed was in the annex with the main building with all the kitchen/dining area/common room in the neighbour building about 5 metres away. I loved everything!

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar. The nearest village, Glenridding, is a 6-minute drive from the hostel.

Great views, silence, good food. Very nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms and toilets. The last mile to the facility isn't in the best condition but not as bad as I thought. Vauxhall corsa didn't have any problem to get there

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

It's a nice rural location and they are cheap dormitory (but private) rooms which are absolutely fine to stay in for a few nights... don't forget your own bedding

The horse and farrier looks so picturesque and a great location for what we needed. The barman and Dave were really friendly and made an effort to make the stay nice. The two ladies on breakfast service were lovely as was the breakfast!

Excellent location close to the heart of Threlkeld. Lovely views over adjacent houses to the fells beyond from many of the rooms. Good showers in main bathroom and en suite. Lovely big rooms both upstairs and downstairs. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of comfortable seating and a nice little set of outdoor chairs and table. Private parking was very convenient and we were actually able to keep three cars (hatchbacks)close to the house and safe.

It's a cheap stay but it feels anything like that; the beds are comfortable, the staff are very nice and helpful, the view is amazing, and the pub serves really good food.
