Situated on the banks of Loch Lomond, Rowardennan Youth Hostel features a self-catering kitchen, dining room and offers a menu with meals, snacks and drinks. The hostel is within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, where guests can enjoy hiking, climbing and watersports.

Great place, smooth check-in after we arrived knackered and could arrange breakfast on arrival. Breakfast had nice cereal, juice, apples, tea, coffee and soy milk available (great as vegan). We rented a whole 4 bed room which was nice and clean with bedding provided. House martins stayed just above our window!

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The surroundings of the hostel are beautiful and the staff is really friendly and accommodating :) the comfort is typical for a youth hostel - which is exactly what we expected.

If you want to stay in a castle and still travelling on a low budget - this is the place. Location is superb. Especially if you are up to hike Ben Lomond. The hostel is fine as usual.

This was a private en-suite room with bunk beds (two and a single). It was pretty typical for a hostel — rather small in size and spartan inamenities as was to be expected. Reception and Kitchen/serving staff were very good and the dinner offered was excellent value.
