Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Situated on 25 acres it offers views of Waimea Estuary, Mt Arthur ranges and farmland. Mapua and Richmond are both 8 minutes' drive away. The glamping tent was awesome. Secluded spot, away from the rest of the accomodation. The view was amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

The homestay features a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Welcoming host, wonderful views and feeling of remoteness while being only 20 minutes away from Motueka and Abel Tasman! Room and bathroom were clean. We liked the very good kitchen and spaciuos shared space. We had no problems driving to the house with Suzuki Swift during good weather, but keep in mind that the driveway is steep. The location itself is on top of the hill of a very cool mountain pass. For me it was a bonus.
