He even prints out a little sign welcoming you which is such a nice touch. The terrace is lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is just a short walk out of town and has a more local feel.

The nearest airport is Quetzaltenango Airport, 74 km from the homestay. Staying at Posada Vicentas was an absolute delight. To start, the location of the house was in a safe and secure area, close to the center of town but enough outside of it that it is quiet and peaceful at night. The family is absolutely lovely. They are so warm and welcoming. Chema, the host, has a wealth of knowledge on the area and provides extra activities that are well worth it. While staying with the family, I opted in for breakfast and dinner, both of which were fresh and filling. I got to sit and join the family which was great fun learning about everyone and practicing my Spanglish. I was able to take a sunrise trip up to the Indian Nose with Chema and his father...and the view was absolutely amazing and should not be missed! I will (hopefully) be returning to San Juan la Laguna soon, as it is such a beautiful place, and I will without a doubt be staying at Posada Vicentas. Highly recommend this stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Posada Del Viajero, we felt welcomed and enjoyed seeing the village. The breakfast was delicious and views from the terrace were amazing.

I like how quit is that place, the owner and his helpers are so politely, I have videos when one of the helpers invite us to join him to listen how hi was singing, we have a good memory of that much moment with my wife and my little baby, we definitely will return, thanks for that experience.

Cabaña Tzanjuyu is a recently renovated guest house in San Juan La Laguna, where guests can makes the most of its outdoor swimming pool, garden and terrace. Housed in a building dating from 2024, this guest house is 26 km from the Volcano Atitlan. The accommodation offers a sauna, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. The cabaña is very authentic and charming, well located in the center of San Juan in a neighborhood that is little touristy, all what we were looking for. Javier and Maria were incredible host, very interesting, passionate and humanist but also very generous (they offered me an herbal tea when I was sick). The view is just stunning and the place has all the comfort needed (even hot shower). We would recommend it to anyone coming to Atitlan.
