It is located 29 km from Derwentwater and offers full-day security. Buttermere is 44 km away and Wasdale is 45 km from the guest house. We liked how easy it was to check in and out. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom with the big tub and waterfall shower was a beautiful touch.

Everything about Melbourne Guest House was great. Lovely hosts, clean, comfortable, the breakfast was really nice and the location is great. Would definitely stay again
The location is great - short 5 to 10 minute walk to the town centre. The are multiple hiking trails accessible from the accommodation and also from Grasmere more generally. The cleanliness of the accommodation was incredibly high. The pillows and bed were incredibly comfortable. I appreciated little extras such as a mini fridge, kettle, teas and biscuits. Michael was a lovely host who provided lots of information on hiking trials and good spots to eat. Very friendly and kind. I will definitely return in the near future.

Beautiful old house once a private home, then a hotel, now a B&B. Has every comfort you could want. The host was very friendly & looked after us very well. Self-serve continental breakfast was excellent, gr8 location.
Good location, Windermere village is just up the road, Bowness is about a mile down the road. Pub just over the road, friendly locals and reasonable food prices. Bed was super comfy, slept like a log. Great hosts, full of local knowledge, very helpful.
Our lovely host Tim was awesome. We had a small issue in our room due to a leak (no fault of theirs) and Tim dealt with it incredibly fast and couldn't do enough to make sure we are catered for. The location was also great and room was lovely. In a B and B, a great host will make or break it and Tim certainly delivered!
