The place is in a nice village one hour away from Beijing and close to the best viewpoint I have ever seen of the great wall, simply fantastic.

The quality of amenities is unbelievably good, the location of the hotel next to Dongsi Street is imo the best location in Beijing. The room was spacy, the cushions were ergonomic, and because of the mattress, I had one of the best sleeps from all the travels I did so far (I travel a lot). The hotel Manager is kind and friendly, hospitable and very motivated to learn more English or speak it better. There is a tea café in the lobby where you'll sure have your best tea cup in Beijing. Highly recommended hotel and definitely staying there the next time I visit Beijing.

Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the homestay free of charge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Guixu. The owner was amazing and provided everything we needed. She truly went above and beyond. Her mom even made us homemade breakfast on our last day! The rooms were very comfortable, clean and newly renovated. The bathroom was amazing, I enjoyed the heated toilet seats. The room had all the amenities could ever want. The cute cat, koi fish and little bird were a plus in our book 😊

Although I did not have a room with a view, as soon as I got out into the corridor, I was surrounded by the beauty of the rugged landscape rising far above, bearing a section of the Great Wall. Having few guests at that rapidly turning wintry weather, the proprietress accompanied me the next day on a 6-km 6-hour walk on the Wall starting from the Guesthouse in Derunju Village. It was a sunny day and this turned out a glorious walk, in which my warm-hearted host showed me every consideration, and we were as companionable as old friends. She told everyone we met that I was 79 and from Malaysia. We climbed up to more than one hill station, the steps in some places being knee-high, and at one point we could see on the opposite side of the lake the section of the Great Wall where it slopes dramatically into the water. In the evening, I feasted on my host’s heartily delicious cuisine… And over the few days of my stay she cooked hot sour soup, jiaozi (northern dumplings) eaten with extremely hot chilli oil, local millet porridge, freshly caught local fish in a local sauce, and home-grown vegetables... We went on a road trip to see some other local sights as well; and I was also very grateful that she helped arrange a taxi for my onward trip to Beijing city. Many thanks for an unforgettable visit. Featuring a shower, private bathroom also comes with slippers. Can't recommend this place enough! The location is great - you can get to the great wall with a short walk. The food was really tasty and the rooms were clean and felt new. Angela arranged for us to be picked up and dropped off further along the wall. Everything was reasonably priced.

Situated in Miyun, just 50 metres away from the Great Wall, this friendly hostel features modern architecture, free Wi-Fi and free parking. Nestled in the laid-back Gubeikou Town, the single-storey house would be a warm base to explore the wild Beijing. The facilities were excellent and modern. It was a great place to stay.
