Oscar, the owner, is an excellent host! You can sense his heart & energy is in this place. He made us feel comfortable straight away. The welcome drink of a shot of port + complimentary 1 big & 2small bottles of mineral water inside the studio was just the beginning of what makes him the host with the most. Basic needs such such as salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamico, dishwashing liquid, bath gel & 3-in-1 shampoo were provided. Add to the fact that this whole place is simply amazing. We stayed in an impeccably clean & modern studio furnished with 4-cooktop gas stove/oven & bar fridge (the only 2 things that needs replacing here), microwave, water kettle & enough kitchenware to whisk our own meals. Beds & pillows (we got 2each - the first for us - heaven!) were comfortable. We could have easily booked the suites as they are as lovely as the studio (thanks Oscar for showing us one). After all, there is a common kitchen for the 3 suites with all its mod-cons. There is a common lounge & dining area with TV, ceiling fan & retractable glass ceiling that made the atmosphere bright, pretty cool aesthetically & literally. Oh! even an awesome spacious terrace upstairs to hang out with cool breeze guaranteed.😍 Sandy gold beaches are only a stone's throw away (I believed it's 10kms in length). Bakeries, coffee & ice cream shops, restaurants butchers, mini-markets, souvenir shops, clothing & shoe shops, etc etc. all within few minutes walk away. Street parking is only €1.20 for 3hours but there's also a 24-hour secure parking nearby. Being a dog friendly place is a bonus. We were even told they can clean our rooms whenever we want by hanging a door shield outside. (A home stay with hotel service - unbelievable😍). There aren't enough superlatives to describe this place. Don't think twice if you wanna visit the area, stay here.

- Pedro, Isabel and the kids are the most nicest host, you could imagine. On our arrival there were fresh fruits in the fridge and the family brought us two "Welcome beers" and a cake. - The communication with the host was super, always available and sometimes Pedro even had a few recommendations what events are going on in town. - The pool was always clean and had a nice, chilly temperature. We got extra towels for the pool and beach. There were two canvas chairs for us to relax at the pool. - The furniture, kitchen and bathroom felt brand new and every kitchen gadget was working perfectly fine. - The route to the Sea was around 5 min per feet with a lot of nice little restaurants on the way/at the beach. A lot of mini mercados and supermarkets are just around the corner. - The apartment and neighborhood are mainly quiet and you can perfectly rest your mind. - A little TV with the whole tv program. - Rain shower

In Sao Pedro de Rates, along the way of the Central Camino, the location is perfect. Anabela is the perfect hostess with a welcome lemonade after our long hike. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Restaurant nearby with delicious food. Great breakfast the next morning.

I stayed here while walking the Camino Portuguese. It was very convenient for the route.The room was clean. We especially liked the air conditioning. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, plates, glasses and utensils. The shower was very good and the towels big.

The beautiful lady at the reception was very helpful and available when needed. The rooms are really big, also the bathroom. It had a heater and a hair dryer which is not common in northern Portugal. I also loved the big bed and the style of the room and the whole guest house. Nice, fully equiped kitchen with everything needed and perfectly located. I will definitely come back.
