The guesthouse place was beautiful upon arrival - really beautiful indoor communal space with free tea and many books and cosy places to sit, with a good social vibe over a mix of ages. The guesthouse owner is super friendly and has had years of experience in hosting travellers and travelling. The rooms were cute and cosy with good bedding and lighting. There is a well-equipped kitchen too. It is conveniently located near the train station and a short walk to the old city.

Amazing location between the bus station/train station and the old town, close to lots of restaurant options. Incredibly clean (the shower absolutely sparkled!) and spacious for two people. Sleeping in the loft was quite warm in July, even with the AC on, but that is no fault of the property, just something to note. We really appreciated having a washer/dryer! Detergent was already preloaded in the machine, so we didn’t need our own.

a really nice modern and clean hostel in Takayama! the staff were very friendly, and the hostel was kept very clean. There are many free amenities available to use, such as power cords, toothbrushes, multiple towels, even little things like scissors and glue. the hostel is a short walk from the Takayama station/bus centre (5 minutes if you're a fast walker) and around 10-15 to all the beautiful old shops in the restoration area. overall a great hostel in a great area, for a great price!

Very friendly and helpful staff with good communication. The hotel is very close to the station and you can book a tour with the hotel to Shirakawa Go or other spots near Takayama. The room was nice, tidy and at a really good price for the service. Would recommend!

Lovely host. Was very welcoming and the rooms were very clean and felt traditional. They let us leave our bags there after we had checked out so we could explore Takayama more which was nice. Well located within a short walk from stores, the bus station and the nice areas with all the little shops.
The host family is very welcoming, the home has so much history and makes you feel a part of something special. It was an amazing experience especially with the host sharing all her knowledge on the local area and the food that was made for us, foraged from the mountain. An amazing experience that will not be forgotten .
The location, the place and the host.
Location wise, it is not very close to the highly touristy spot but just within a few minutes walk away. It allows to enjoy a quiet and peaceful morning without missing out on the experience of the old town Takayama.
The homestay is very clean and aesthetically pleasing too. I personally really liked the mini garden outside, a nice spot to enjoy your morning coffee.
The host is also very responsive and accommodating. We even helped us get back the stuff we left behind. Highly recommended!
Comfortable and quiet. The host was so polite and helpful. He recommended us some good restaurants and brote us to the bus station in the morning because the bus was not running due to Japan’ golden week!
