Lots to like about this B&B, including the price which is good value for a single traveller (unusually). The entire house is beautifully decorated and immaculately presented, and the rooms are all spacious. The house is in a really quiet location, ideal for people like me who demand a tranquil stay rather than the annoyance of noise… but it isn’t a long drive to Mullingar from here. This property is ideal for the traveller who likes to go self catering in the evening, as there is a full size well equipped kitchen with seating area. I got a good nights sleep, although I slept in the single bed because of the annoying green safety light above the double bed. A continental breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, bread for toast, and cellophane wrapped pastries is included in the price. The lady who runs this B&B seems pleasant and friendly, although one only sees her upon arrival - she replied quickly to my queries in the booking.
Offering a garden and garden view, Streete retreat centre N91 CF20 is located in Westmeath, 25 km from Mullingar Greyhound Stadium and 32 km from Loughcrew Historical Gardens & Visitor Centre.

From the moment we arrived when Maria greeted us outside after parking our car, we had great experience at the Streete Retreat. Her and Joe are a great couple who are the epitome of old fashioned Irish hospitality. Lovely room, super breakfast (well done Joe). Very peaceful and tranquil house in a very quiet village.
Will be back.

Siobhan is a lovely host, the apt is comfortable and clean and very close to the train station. I slept well without any noise disturbance. It is a good place to stay and I will go back.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Visited Ireland from Canada and spent one night in Mullingar. This was a gorgeous property. Lovely hosts. Great value for the money. About a 15 minute walk to downtown Mullingar.
Excellent location and lovely hosts - I think tourists would really enjoy chatting to the man whose name escapes me (sorry 😬). Lots of history / music in the house. The walk into town was very easy for me. Comfy bed.
Lovely hosts and room is comfortable with the best bed I have ever slept in. I stay here quite often with work and always have the best nights sleep. Peaceful location but still on a short drive to Mullingar
I loved how the hotel staff were so down to earth n helpful. The locals were all so friendly, it felt like home from home. Cant recommend The Greville Arms Hotel highly enough.
Very busy hotel with a lot of locals using the facilities so it is a great place to people watch. Music in the bar on Friday and Saturday nights so makes for a great atmosphere.
