Sawah Indah is on a long skinny block going back from the road. The restaurant and reception are first then the rooms range back and up the hill with curving paths leading to the rooms. The bungalow rooms are the furthest away from the road.
The gardens are lovely and well maintained.
We had a one bedroom bungalow room and it was great. It was a wooden construction, with a thatch roof. It had two rooms, bedroom and bathroom with the bedroom looking out the covered verandah which was so large, it really counted as a second room, especially as it had a two seater lounge and a couple of armchairs plus a coffee table. It was fully covered so no rain got in. Lovely view across the paddies to the distant mountains. I had asked for a quiet room and we were given one right up the back, away from the other rooms. The other rooms all looked nice, and all seemed to have varying designs and layouts.
Bed was king-sized with mosquito nets and there was a bar fridge and a cupboard for luggage plus some seating.
The bathroom was huge with double sinks, a full-sized concrete bath and two showers, one outdoors.
They actually had a clock on the wall, which was really handy to have.
The pool was nice and cool. only a few loungers right next to it but there was also another level below it with more loungers.
The restaurant was really good - a large range of items, very well presented, tasty and reasonably priced.
The weather was lovely and cool, which was a relief after a few days in Amed.

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Edy and Ady are really nice hosts who make you feel like a welcome guest in their home. Nice breakfast and all time free tea and coffee and we also got fresh juice. The bonfire evening was nice. You can feel close to nature and locals here. Not far from the entrance to mount batur and a supermarket nearby.
The view from the Homestay is stunning, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Enjoying a tea/coffee and breakfast in the idyllic garden area was just perfect.
I like the landscape scenery that we can access from our homestay. The breakfast was good even though it was a simple instant noodle. It provides a place to work on a computer with many plugs installed in the concrete deck. It's terrific for digital nomad people.
Perfect place to start your Batur Sunrise hike. We booked the hike via this homestay and our guide Alex was great!

The location is great for hiking mount Batur. You get to the start of the trek in no time and you have views of the mount from the homestay pool.
Wang is the coolest guy and arranges all the tour with detail explanation once you reach to the homestay, and they serve you a nice breakfast in the morning after doing the hike so you can rest.
Eddie and his staff were great hosts. really made us feel welcome, free welcome drinks and took time to get to know us. They were available for anything you needed to book including free lifts to local attractions. The breakfast was really nice and views from the Homestay were brilliant. We would recommend this stay to anyone and would definitely stay again.
