Collaven Manor, hotel in Okehampton

Well linked to the M5, this 15th-century manor house stands in 4 acres of gardens, with glorious countryside views and a rich history. Collaven Manor is in the North West of Dartmoor.

Situated on the edge of Dartmoor the Manor offers easy access for walkers or tourists alike. The location was ideal for what we wanted to do. It's a beautiful old house and the large beautifully kept grounds offer plenty of room to stroll around or just sit in the sun and relax. The Breakfasts are exceptional and the Hosts are very, very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. There are also plenty of local hostelries within easy distance for getting an evening meal. Loved this beautiful old hotel in this very pretty quaint village. We had an upgraded room which included a carpark, for which we were very grateful. Our room size was very generous and the cooked to order breakfast was first rate. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Lydford House, hotel in Okehampton

The 4-star Lydford Country House is set amongst 8 acres of grounds within Dartmoor National Park. Lydford Gorge is a 15-minute walk away.

Lydford house is so much better than a chain hotel. The hotel is family owned, and we were dealt with throughout by the owner. The service could not be faulted, and I have no hesitation in recommendiing this establishment to other couples. A small hotel of very high quality!

Quiet location just what I needed after a day on the road but close to A30 to get away in the morning. Evening meal and breakfast couldn't fault, and Natasha was a great host at the hotel

Natasha & Colin were great hosts. B&B is new and very clean. Great shower. Fresh milk as opposed to the long life sachets for tea & coffee in room. Great breakfast. Small village but food available at B&B or nearby village. There are stairs to negotiate with the bags (manageable) Don’t trust your GPS - look for the sign We enjoyed our one night stay

didn't have to pay for WiFi. The access to walks on Dartmoor were exellent, especially Lydford Gorge. The room was prepared by the time we arrived and was super clean. Breakfast was really delicious and plentiful. What sold it for us is its super pet friendly (except the breakfast room which is fair) and Maya our border collie loved staying there, plenty of garden to run around. Jakes and Jane were lovely hosts, thank you both ❤️
