The suite was very clean and immaculately presented. It had everything that we needed and we greatly enjoyed our stay. We loved the house and the grounds which are clearly very well looked after. Dogs are more than welcome and catered for with treats and blankets. The property was very easy to find and the private parking was useful. Having a discount at The Good Sport pub was a bonus.

Built from traditional Lakeland stone, Hillsdale B&B in Ambleside offers fresh cooked breakfasts and bright bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. In the centre of beautiful Ambleside, there is also free parking.

Hillsdale B&B was an incredible stay. The location, the home itself, the rooms, and the breakfast were all amazing and exceeded all of our expectations. Steve and Caz were so welcoming, personally showing us into their property, guiding us to the parking, offering excellent recommendations, and preparing the perfect English breakfast in their beautiful breakfast room. As soon as the five of us settled into our rooms, we all said we wished we were staying longer! Steve and Caz thought of everything - all the amenities and necessities required and more! I couldn't give a more glowing recommendation to this bed and breakfast. If you are considering a visit to the Lake District and Ambleside - DO NOT miss this amazing stay!

Lovely place. We stayed in the Garden Suite and had our 2 Irish Terriers with us. No charge for the dogs. Loved that we had our own entrance into our accommodation. Immaculately clean. Super cosy. Bedroom was separate to the living area. Only a few minutes walk to the centre of Grasmere. We chose the breakfast option on booking which we had at the local pub that is owned by the same people. The breakfast was lovely. Richard the host was great and really approachable for advice about the local area and walks. We would definitely return .

Quiet and 100yds off the Main Street, perfect for walking high or low around Grasmere and beyond. Stayed in the Penthouse, top floor with a private outside terrace which is nearly as big as the room… great for the dog and if we had had better weather, for us too! Plenty of parking, Richard was on hand twice when we needed a hand… forgotten phone charger and then jump leads for the car!!! Nothing was too much trouble, great host.

Flexible self check in was fantastic, as we were checking in so late. Mike was a great host, super knowledgeable about the area with lots of great recommendations! Location was great as it was a short walk to the centre of Grasmere & the cafe in town is a great place for brunch. We'll be back!
