Breakfast was fine in quality, variety and quantity; however, the place was very crowded and probably too small for the numbers present. The bed was comfortable, the internet connection stable and fast. The location is central and well served.
This modern hotel is next to the Ocean Terminal shopping centre and the Royal Yacht Britannia. It has paid onsite parking, air-conditioned rooms and regular buses to the city centre stop outside.

Friendly welcome dinner was terrible but breakfast was good
We are just back from another stay at The Holiday Inn Express in Edinburgh. It's a really lovely hotel, a great location, and staff are exceptional, very friendly, and willing to help. I would most definitely recommend it. Thanks from the Heaney family Ireland.
We usually go for Holiday Inn Express as we’ve never had any issues at any we’ve stayed at. Very helpful staff and very convenient for Edinburgh theatres
During our City Break trip to Edinburgh we stayed in Holiday Inn Express hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is in a good location and the room (in which we stayed in - on the 4th floor) was very nice, clean and warm. Hotel personnel were very professional and helpful. Breakfast was ok for short stay but could be improved.
I wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
The location is perfect when you want to explore the city centre of Edinburgh. The breakfast is a buffet where you can find croissants, muffins, all different types of drinks, eggs, bacon and sausages, to summarize a full breakfast. They do vegetarian options as well.
The staff was very helpful.
If you drive to the hotel, there is a parking nearby. There was a daily discount offered by the hotel. I definitely recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile Hotel.
For a so-called 'bedroom factory', the Holiday Inn Express has well-appointed, relatively spacious rooms. We found it fairly quiet, even with the window open, although, if not, there's double glazing and air-conditioning. We wanted to be in Leith; so, the location was perfect. It's a little way from the centre of Edinburgh but there is convenient, efficient and cheap public transport. And, anyway, Leith is a very interesting and (normally) pleasant area.
Exactly what you would expect from a Holiday Inn hotel.
It seems it was recently renovated, so everything was clean, new, and comfortable.
Breakfast was good with different options to choose from.
Same routine Breakfast as in other Holiday Inn IHG hotels as we just came to this from London after 4 days stay ther..
found corridors claustrophobic & ill lit
Room carpet looked not very clean..
The hotel was as I would have expected from a Holiday Inn Express.. Like with any hotel I would expect it to be clean and friendly so it met my expectations, but it didnt exceed them I also knew the location of the hotel when I booked it, so again it met my expectations
