Ideally located for exploring Abel Tasman National Park, Pohara Beach Holiday Park is 10 minutes' drive from Takaka and Golden Bay. It is 30 minutes' drive from Collingwood.
Cabin overlooked the beach and sea which was an amazing view. Very quiet with restaurants a short 3 minute walk away.
Very clean and comfortable. Small, as expected, but most of our time was spent sitting outside watching the sea. Good shower and facilities with a fridge and kettle.
Loved it.
Pohara
Located 3 minutes’ drive from Pohara Beach, The Sandcastle is set on a tranquil valley overlooking the sea. It features self-contained cottages with a balcony offering sea and garden views.
The pet-friendly cottages each feature handcrafted wooden décor and a kitchen with a electric stovetop, a refrigerator and a microwave. Each has a lounge area with a TV and a dining setting.

The perfect family holiday home. Lovely position close to the beach, with special views across the bay. Very comfortable beds and relaxing living area. It's what you expect to have a fantastic beach holiday.
Great service, courteous staff, rooms have very comfortable bed and chairs, addition wicker chairs outside each unit, with great outlook onto rosebushes; two stands for suitcases instead of the usual one, swimming pool available; can have outdoor dining on sunny days; we've returned here several times despite the fact it's pretty pricy- and staff remember that you have been there before - a nice touch. Close to the beach, but also quiet.
Good welcome, room was ready and clean when we arrived. Swimming pool for my wife, situated in the centre of town, very happy.
The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was reasonable for self-catering and the location was central for all our activities. Having Netflix was a bonus for entertainment. The furnishings (e.g. natural cupboard doors in the kitchen and wood panelling on ceiling) made for an unusual but appealing decor.
Quiet at this time of year (March) not many other campers. Beach was nice. The cabins were clean and comfortable. Neighbours next door liked to slam their door when up at night to use facilities.
From the moment we arrived until our departure 3 days later, we just loved the warmth and friendliness of Serge and Marie. Marie gives a great, genuine, continental breakfast, made more special as she makes her own bread and jams. The spa pools, swimming pool and sauna are well maintained and very clean, as was our room and the other outdoor social areas.
Breakfast was an amazing buffet of cereals, home made bread with a variety of spreads, orange juice- freshly squeezed, coffee plus eggs and meat and cheese if you wanted it. There was a beautiful outside area for eating and cooking food if you brought your own. Then there was the spas, saunas and swimming pool. Shower and changing facilities were also available. It looked beautiful and felt most luxurious. The bedroom was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything I could have asked for.
