Situated near Jatiluwih, Tepi Sawah Lodge & Retreat is located in Wongaya Gede village on the slope of Mount Batukaru. Free WiFi access is available in this holiday park.

This holiday park is 40 km from Bali Denpasar International Airport.

After 11 nights here, I can say that it is truly one of the best experiences I have had in a jungle location. We stayed long enough to notice that every guest that came ended up extending their stay by at least one night, and we even saw guests return after short stays elsewhere to stay longer among the peaceful ricefields of Tepi Sawah. The food is very healthy. They serve organically grown rice from the field surrounding the property. The coffee is grown nearby and freshly roasted and ground. At dinner, you’ll be able to try a very wide variety of local Balinese and Indonesian dishes that would be hard to find elsewhere. The breakfasts are stupendous - fresh fruit (pineapples grown on the property), Balinese breakfast pastries made from rice and coconut, fried bananas, omelette and nasi goreng. They don’t use msg or packaged products. I ate a huge diversity of dishes and after such a long stay I was able to notice how healthy it made me feel. The hospitality is really constantly at max. If homestays had star ratings, this would be 5-star. The hosts are friendly, welcoming, available to sort out any needs, they have lots of local knowledge to share, and are well connected to all the resources you may need, be it renting a motorbike, arranging transit/onward travel, doing laundry, visiting the local natural geographical attractions, engaging in Balinese cultural activities like praying at the jungle temples, playing the gamelan (they have two) or learning how to cook traditional dishes. The bungalow was very well appointed. All is made from recycling the material and furniture from the heritage home of the owner, so it has a very warm nostalgic feeling. The staff clean every day and bring fresh water. We stayed long and noticed the sheets were changed every 3 days. The bed linen is fine quality cotton, smooth and comfortable, and the mattress is medium firm.

Everything was amazing! The staff are so welcoming, helpful and warm. The food was all freshly prepared with love. The breakfast overnight oats was delicious. So nice to wake up two mornings in the tranquility of the rice paddies and be able to step in and walk about there. I had a massage and it was also so great. The swimming pool was perfect for a dip after trekking the rice paddies. But no need to even go to Jatiluweh as the rice paddies at the hotel are so beautiful Thanks to Ellen and her team for a beautiful stay.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the mountain water swimming pool is cold but glorious and huge. The reception/dining area was a pleasant space. If you just want to chill, this is an extremely relaxing spot. Our semi-detached bungalow bedroom was a good size but the soundproofing was poor so if going again we would book a detached (but even more expensive!) bungalow.

The tiny house is lovely and the view is awesome. The host offers great tours and knows everything about the plants and how to use them. His wife prepares a delicious balinesian breakfast. For dinner you should definitely visit his uncle😋
