Located 23 km from Tulum Archeological Site, ALDEA JO-YAH offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as pool with a view and a garden. The bed was super comfortable, and sheets were changed every other day. The villa was spacious and clean, with working air conditioning and wifi. The surrounding location around our villa was gorgeous, beautiful plants and landscaping. The pool was also beautiful and refreshing. We loved staying in the jungle outside of downtown Tulum as it was quiet and private. You definitely will want to rent a car or a motorbike if you are staying here, as it is not walkable to downtown Tulum. There is plenty of parking on site. We will be coming back some day!

Villa Marilu B&B in Bacalar provides adults-only accommodation with a private beach area and a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. We flew into Cancun on January 20th and rented a car (ahead of time) to make the 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive South to Bacalar. We didn't get our car until 7:00pm which meant we wouldn't arrive to Bacalar until 11pm at best. I corresponded with Eduardo (Eddie) through Booking.com regarding our travel plans and estimated time of arrival. He responded immediately and said our arrival time was no issue and he'd wait up for us. As planned, we arrived at 11pm. I read a few reviews that said the property was hard to find. In my opinion, it was not. The directions were perfect and took us straight to the Villa Marilu. Outside the front gate is a door bell, we rung the bell and Eddie was there within 10 seconds. He let us in, we parked, got orientated; map of the town, key for the front gate, information, suggestions on where to eat, activities, wifi and helpful advice and off to our room we went. I also read that people highlighted the road conditions along the lagoon. Yes, the road is bumpy but it was fine. The last few days of our stay in Bacalar, the road was being grated and repaired; therefore, it shouldn't be an issue for anyone in the near future. The Villa has 4 rooms. Two on the top floor and and two on the lower level. The front two rooms (upper/lower) face the lagoon and have a balcony / patio and the back two rooms are just rooms. We had the top floor room facing the lagoon. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a TV, A/C and bathroom with towels and a blow dryer. Maid service came daily. Our patio had a hammock, table / chairs and a two other little chairs. The pictures listed on the booking site are exactly as it is. We reviewed a lot of properties and while we were in Bacalar, we saw a lot of the properties and I'm confident we selected the perfect one. I would 100% stay at the Villa Marilu again. Every morning the continental breakfast was served between 8:30am - 10:30 am.

It is typically Mexican with so much character. The garden with beautiful flowers, trees and a refreshing pool to cool off in is a haven. Andrea is simply a wonderful person. So kind and was incredibly helpful to us as our car hire did not turn up. She spent hours on the phone for us sorting it out. The breakfast she prepared for us was quite exceptional. I cannot recommend this accommodation and Andrea highly enough.

The cabaña is perfect if you want a quiet getaway from the busy down town of Isla Mujeres. The cabaña is fully equipped with everything you might need and with the Coffee Bus serving great coffee just outside, breakfast and snacks are easy. We enjoyed the eating oppurtunities just down the street.

We were very well Impressed as soon as we opened the 1st gate! It’s wonderful and bigger than we thought it would be! Spacious, modern and tasteful decoration. Had easy to follow procedures to enter, stayed 5 nights, didn’t have any trouble at all, loved staying here and super recomend!
