The property is around 3.3 km from Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple, 6 km from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and 6.1 km from Kinkaku-ji Temple. Guests can access the holiday home via private entrance. The staff waited for us to arrive and assist us with check-in even though we forgot to update them on our arrival timing. The room itself was really nice and comfortable, facilities and heating was really good. Staff was very friendly and the interior design of the room was very traditionally Japanese.

The house was spacious but had a cozy feeling so it felt really comfortable to be in. Also the floor layout had a good balance of features from older houses and modern ones.

There are a lot of restaurants in this neighbourhood and also grocery stores. From this place it is easy to travel with public transport to many touristic spots.

The 5-star holiday home features garden views and is 1.3 km from Gion Shijo Station. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. beautiful street and location, from the street we had a great view of the Yasaka pagoda. They provided us umbrellas to use during our stay and were able to hold our luggage before check in and after check out as well. From our location we were a short <3 m walk away to multiple convenience stores and main road to catch taxis from.

The authenticity of a Ryokan along with the enthusiasm of the staff and their helpful nature were two key aspects that we liked the most.

BenTen Residences offer a Japanese machiya accommodation in the heart of Higashiyama, Kyoto. Yasaka Shrine is 7 minutes on foot, while Kiyomizu Temple is a 14-minute stroll. BenTen Residences was featured as 1 of the Top 10 vacation homes in 2017 by Dwell. Free WiFi access is provided throughout the entire property. A little gem in Kyoto, tucked away in a quiet corner in the area between Gion and Kiyomizu, however close enough to reach dome major highlights by foot. Higashiyama is my favourite area in Kyoto and we loved the vicinity of the hills and the greenery. Although easily reachable by public transport from Kyoto station, the property feels secluded and away from the noise. We loved to stroll around the area, discover bars or cafes in hidden alleys and take in the beauty of the shrines and temples along the way. The house itself is spacious for a party of four (ot could sleep more but then luggage handling might be an issue) and still has the touch and feel of s newly decorated place. The attention to detail is pitsyanding and most of sll we loved thst thr place had a simplistic feel to it in the positive sense. The house is virtually tchotchke and clutter free but offers alll necessities for the modern traveller.

The property features a shared bathroom. Towels, slippers and free toiletries including toothbrushes are also provided. Mulan Hostel is a peaceful oasis! It is impeccably clean, has all facilities a traveler needs, and the hosts are kind and helpful. We loved our 4 night stay. Perfect location and we enjoyed using the bikes to zoom around.
