This beautiful guesthouse is perfect for some days in Kandy. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but it was still very nice. Big garden, super friendly and helpful staff, quiet neighbourhood (10minutes drive from the center) and nice rooms.
We enjoed our stay very much and the spontaneous cooking class made it even better.

We absolutely loved our four night stay at the Surveyor's Residence Bungalow. The staff were so helpful, friendly and Selva's cooking was exceptional. Once we had our first breakfast, we choose to eat every meal there as it was so flavoursome, beautifully cooked and a variety of food to choose from. The Indian feast he prepared was outstanding.
Nalin had great recommendations for us, and nothing was a problem.
The house is gorgeous - with plenty of space, a beautiful garden and a stunning pool. It also has lots of the original surveyor equpment still in it, which makes a lovely story (vs a soulless hotel experience). It is located in an upmarket part of Kandy so we were in a quiet area, surrounded by beautiful homes and an easy tuktuk ride into the city.
We would definitely stay here again and were sad to leave.

The villa looks literally like it's from a fairy tale! A very comfortable bed, an idyllic view from the pool, meals served in the room by very friendly staff are just some of the positive things of this villa.
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
The bungalow was a superb place to stay, offering a very clean and comfortable environment. Dave and his staff were exceptionally friendly and supportive, making our stay even more enjoyable. We were delighted by the delicious homemade food and the delightful homemade jams. The kids had a wonderful experience and absolutely loved it.
Great, very clean place located directly at the Main Street between Matale and Dambulla. Very friendly owner and above-average breakfast with best latte we have had in Sri Lanka.
Lovely spacious room with a huge terras. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast on the terras is excellent with a great view on the garden and the surrounding. A bit remote but with a tuktuk you can be down town within 7 minutes or even less.
Dilini is an amazing host, she recommended us nice spots in Knuckles Forrest Reserve. I would definitely recommend to stay in Matale for more than 1 night and visit Knuckles as much as possible, the nature is really beautiful (although good to have a driver or a car to visit all the spots). Also, the room was very clean with all the needed facilities. Special thank you to Dilini for making a delicious cappuccino during the breakfast!
I stayed 1 night only here , my experience better then my hope , I searched this hotel online on booking.com , but booking.com site dad holiday no pic , I have no option so I booked , I go hotel check in first I see room , room are very clean and beautiful , everything is nice , food is very cheap and good taste , if anybody looking hotel on matale without any risk stay in this hotel , high recommend this hotel to my experience
