We spent months researching a good place to stay for my return to my ancestral roots. And we found a great place that I can’t recommend enough. We spent three lovely nights at Casa Splendida. The beds were very comfortable, and the place was immaculately clean. There were unbelievable views from the balcony where we drank wine and ate delicious Sicilian food. The free and easy parking at the house was an added bonus. Moina and her husband were incredibly helpful and friendly and treated us to figs, apricots, and tomatoes from their garden. (Moina even shared some homemade pizza that was some of the best food we had on our whole trip!). The house had everything we needed, including a washing machine, extra blankets, and even an expresso machine. Monreale was a perfect base for us and we had easy day trips to Erice, Trapani, Palermo, and the Monreale cathedral. After spending time in bustling Palermo our family was happy to return to the more quiet and quaint home in Monreale less than 30 minutes away. We hope to return to Casa Splendida again and we can’t appreciate Moina and her husband enough for the great time our family shared.
