This cottage is an island of peace in the soft lap of nature. The perfect silence was broken only by a few wild ducks who came to visit the house, much to the delight of our cats. A majestic deer also often ventured out from the nearby woods onto the hillside, which was richly covered with magnificent grass. The area is fabulous, the people are thoughtful and kind. If you are looking for a truly peaceful place to stay, don't hesitate to visit the Winters' cottage, lovingly and kindly decorated, and enjoy their hospitality and delicious surprises. Sissy and her son gave us a big welcome with a nice bottle of red wine from her husband's vineyard and a big piece of home-made chocolate cake! The house is definitely a dream for anyone missing the mountain life, especially for me who had been trapped in the low land for two years! We enjoyed the house, the garden, the football field a lot, and of course, the wonderful mountain view around the house! There are a lot to do in the neighborhood as well, like hiking, swimming in the lake, and the summer toboggan run. Strange not to see many tourists from other countries, but it definitely gave us more quietness to enjoy the nature and the kindness of the people in Almenland!
