The building itself breaths history, the space is magical. All the amenities were fully prepared. The staff was incredibly polite. We definitely reccommend to try their meals too since it tastes great. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming, it made a big mark in memories of our first Japanese trip.

The staff was super helpful, giving the best advices for dining, sightseeing and relaxing. I used the free bike all day long and some more. The bed was one of the best I've slept in years.

Everything was incredible at this hostel! You will find it a mere 50m away and right across from Mt. Fuji station. We loved our time here - from the warm greeting we received at the door from the owner (who stayed late to meet us and give us a highlighted map of local attractions), to the clean and comfortable rooms, to the complimentary breakfast and comfortable and cozy lounge. The owners, Hana-san and her husband were incredibly friendly, helpful, and kind. The shared showers are single private rooms and much nicer than I expected. The room was spacious and the bed soft and comfortable. The hand-painted cute artwork on the walls added a whimsical touch and made it family-friendly. We would definitely come back to stay again. Hana-san and family, thank you for hosting us and making us feel at home!

Renovated in September 2018, Guesthouseほのぼの offers an accommodation with free WiFi in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.3 km from Lake Kawaguchi. Really nice place and Masaya is the best host. Our son loved it, and so did we. Keep it up, you are doing it right. He does a shuttle service free of charge to the station and even will pick you up, if you get lost in the woods. But we didn't need that, as we had our own car. Bathrooms are very clean. In general everything is very clean. We had the family room with 5 futons. And as we love the Japanese rooms, it was very comfortable for us.

Open from July 2017, Guesthouse Murabito is nestled just a 2-minute stroll away from Lake Yamanaka. I had a fantastic experience staying at Murabito Hostel, managed by a lovely young family. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and their willingness to assist with any inquiries or requests. The hostel itself is impeccably clean and exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. One of the standout features of Murabito Hostel is the abundance of communal areas, including a spacious lounge and an inviting outdoor space. This allows guests to find their preferred spot to relax and unwind. Whether you want to socialize with fellow travelers or find a quiet nook to enjoy a book, there are ample options available. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would wholeheartedly choose Murabito Hostel again for my next visit to Yamanakako. The exceptional hospitality, cleanliness, and cozy ambiance make it a standout option in the area. The young family who runs the hostel truly creates a welcoming and comfortable environment, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable stay.
