We really enjoyed our discussions about all things Japan and 'just life in general' while enjoying the warmth of the kotatsu. She gave us some great tips for our visit around Fuji-san and made reservations for us at a popular local restaurant, named Yabu (traditional Japanese food, a real crowd pleaser, don't miss it). Our stay at Link House is one to be repeated :-).

The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The beds were heated when we arrived and the room was warm. The view was amazing and it was very easy to locate the property. The host was amazing and friendly we chatted for a while! So many amenities such as bike and stand up paddle board. Close to many food places and 7/11. Swans were friendly and greeted us near the lake.

Renovated in September 2018, Guesthouseほのぼの offers an accommodation with free WiFi in Fujikawaguchiko, 1.3 km from Lake Kawaguchi. Free private parking is available on site on a first-come, first-serve basis as well as prior reservation. Free shuttle service is available upon prior request from the property to Kawaguchiko Station. Very friendly owner, he was even pick and drop us to the train station, gave us lots of tips and instructions about area need to go. Very flexible person. The property is okay, value for the money, simple guest house, and free hot beverages. Point is we love the host hospitality. Superb!

Open from July 2017, Guesthouse Murabito is nestled just a 2-minute stroll away from Lake Yamanaka. Free WiFi access is available throughout the entire property, and free private parking is offered on site. A convenience store and supermarket are respectively a 2 and 15-minute stroll away. A restaurant is located a 3-minute walk away from the accommodation. A cosy place to stay. Felt like home to me. I travelled from Yokohama and the highway bus stopped right next to this guesthouse. Highway bus to Tokyo also stops at the same bus stop and that is very convenient. Their bike rental rate is one of the cheapest too! Thank you so much Marino and Kei for the hospitality💕 I would definitely be back in the future to hike up the trails around Yamanakako 🗻

Kawaguchiko Train Station can be reached with a 2-minute walk. Mount Fuji is 16 km from GuestHouse OC, while Shimobe Hot Spring is 27 km away. Guesthouse OC is a small family run, Japanese like, hotel. The vicinity of Kawaguchi bus and train station is a strong reason when choosing OC. You can walk to or from the station in about 5 minutes. The location is also close to the main attraction in the area: Kawaguchi Lake (Kawaguchiko) and Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, again some 10-20 minutes walking time each. Supermarkets and restaurants, all are accessible by walking. The hotel itself is small, few rooms (less than 10) with a sufficient number of WC and shower rooms to be shared by the visitors in the commun area. We enjoyed staying in a Japanese style room, very close to a Ryokan style hotel. For a westerner this room may be less comfortable but if you agree to test it it may be a very pleasant experience. The hotel is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing sojourn and, what's most important, the hotel is well maintained and absolutely clean. The owner family is very friendly and supportive. Being a Japaneze style hotel, there may be some particularities like the less phonic insulation between rooms but once accepted this and if you are lucky having civilised neighbors observing common sense rules for living together this fact is perfectry tolerable. It was the case during our stay there. On top of this, despite the vecinity with a crowded point like a bus/railway station and the surrounding roads, the hotel is particularly quiet, with a rural appearance. During our stay the hotel was under the works for extention but, despite this, we didn't feel it, thanks to the well organized works.
