Kiryu
Continental and American breakfast options with local specialities, fruits and juice are available daily at the guest house. At Okiya Guest House & Tapas Bar, the traditional restaurant is open for dinner, lunch and cocktails and serves Argentinian cuisine. It was the perfect place to stay after watching the wisterias and cherry blossoms at Ashikaga Flower Park. Less than 30 minutes door to door using JR (train). The location is superb - a renovated traditional Japanese house, with tons of character. The food (Argentinian, Spanish) was excellent! I'm from Spain, and loved everything we tried: chorizos, Argentinian empanadas, Huevo roto (french fries, ham and fried egg). Dinner was delicious, wonderfully paired with great wine, and the fun company of our hosts, Gabriel and Yoko. A joyful place to rest and disconnect from the outside world. The music selection was impeccable and added to the ambiance. It was a wonderful experience. Net, net: wonderful Latin/Spanish food, inspiring lodging and fun company.

The host was lovely and friendly and spoke some english too which was great! Its close to anywhere in the town even the hot spring park is close. The beds were super comfy and i enjoyed it so much i stayed another night here. Thank you :)

Location was right off the central onsen/square of Kusatsu. Very convenient, calm and quiet. The ryokan itself had 2 private and 2 gendered onsens that were almost always available for our own use and I will absolutely stay here again if I visit Kusatsu again.
Nice and relaxed place. I really liked the Onsen and the superieur terrace room that was quiet, also thanks to the respectful Japanese guests. Very kind staff especially the young lady from Sri Lanka, but all of them did their best to make my stay as pleasant as possible and I stayed for 7 nights! Very good bed and bedding and an easy walk to the charming village of Shima Onsen with numerous restaurants and cafés.

The hotel is in a great location just minutes from the train station. Many facilities like mini-marts and restaurants nearby. Helpful staff. Great eider down on a comfortable bed. Quiet room.
Very warmly welcoming and friendly personnel, attentive care, helpful service. Cosy, well-managed hot bath sections (two), which were easily available on-demand. Both of the baths are big enough for 2-3 persons. We had a spacious and well-equipped room suitable for three persons. Clean and very quiet. Comfy yukatas and thankfully one larger sized one for a bigger-size North European guy😀Fantastic breakfast, which was different every morning! Great location, traditional feel, quiet hotel, roomier than expected, 4 indoor private onsens with temps posted (HOT) which were available whenever we were looking to use them, plenty of parking. I'm saw kids enjoying the playroom with toys on the premises. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great value for money.
The room was clean and warm. There are no more than 4 people in the "hostel" style room. The location of the guesthouse is close to the center of Kusatsu, so it's easy to get around. The staff was also really helpful.
It was one of the best boutique ryokans we had stayed, located in a beautiful charming shima onsen. Service was personable. There are 3 lovely private onsen baths for guest to use freely. Meals were excellent - exquisite and delicious! There’s free coffee/tea at a little library area. We used the free bicycles provided to cycle to town and beyond which was so much fun. Our only regret - should have booked 2 nights stay at least.
This is the best guest house I have ever been! Yuko and Gabriel are great hosts. They are very kind and warmful. The place is very nice: a traditional Japanese house renovated with respect and taste, with modern comfort. Gabriel is also an excellent chef making a delicious cuisine from Spain, Italy and Argentina, together with very good wines from Argentina. Finally, the place is very well located, in a quiet place a few hundred meters from a Mega commercial center, the train station, and various other shops and restaurants.
Very beautiful and quiet hotel, onsen was nice. Dinner was ok, breakfast was good. Great location.
