Mary was incredibly helpful--besides making sure that I feel comfortable and enjoy the area, she also helped me with looking for resources for my PhD research (the reason why I came to Tullamore). She absolutely went out of her way to look for things I could do and it is greatly appreciated, as it made my stay a real success. The house is very well located just off the main square and beside a very nice river. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom, and beautifully furnished. I will absolutely be back!

Located opposite the Giltraps Pub, the accommodation is just 2 km from Kinnitty Castle. The room was quiet and comfortable, nice private bathroom. Common space offered options for cooking and eating, very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Neighborhood bar and Cafe were great.

Our stay at Townsend House was wonderful! The room was beautiful- we stayed in the family suite which was spacious and very comfortable. The location was just perfect for exploring the small village of Birr- walking distance to the castle and town center. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was delicious (and huge!). We were so happy with this stay and would definitely recommend it.

The position was first rate with the castle at one end of the street, a church at the other and lovely Georgian houses in between. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices. There was also plentiful safe free parking on the street outside. A walk in the castle grounds is recommended.
