The attention to detail of Joan and John is out of this world, with plenty of fresh food. They left for my partner gluten free options of everything and even all kind of dog food for our Queen. They left a birthday cake for me and a card... The area is fantastic with very nice hikes to do around the house. Saffron is a cute village with a very nice local market on Saturday, worth the visit!

I liked everything about the service I got- the customer service, cleanliness, the meals and the attention to details. The owners were professional, yet friendly, without being overwhelming.

You can play darts at the inn. The best inn I have ever stayed inn! It's a 1500s building and it is gorgeous and fascinating inside. So much to look at, lovingly and tastefully restored and preserved. See pics. Fantastic staff. I didn't use the pub / restaurant but it looked superb. I did have breakfast which was 10 out of 10, see pic. The location is in the heart of the historic old town, all the streets are narrow and quaint, I managed to find parking up the street, but the whole area wasn't designed for motor cars. Be aware that the many steep stairs are not suitable if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, so if that's you call them to discuss your options. See the pic of the paper they gave me to help me navigate the labyrinth! Overall the best historic property I have ever stayed in, and I have travelled a lot. Don't miss staying here!

In the restaurant, a Continental and cooked breakfast is available in the morning for a surcharge. Muesli, yoghurt and fresh fruit is also available. Using fresh, local produce there is also a lunch and dinner menu available. The menu also includes a ‘Huffer’ filled sandwich, popular with the locals. Everything. Last minute booking (day before) nad we were delighted. Gorgeous little spot. The pub was fab, the meal was great. Room had everything - plenty of space and a comfy bed - all we needed for one night as we were touring the area. Have stayed in 15+ place over the UK in the past month and this was the best in terms of value and how nice it was.

A full English breakfast is freshly cooked and served every morning. A continental option, with items such as cereals and toasts, is also available. Host was very welcoming and and informative re parking. The location is amazing. We went for a concert at the West Cliff Theatre and its minutes from there and the beach front. The whole place is impeccably clean, very quiet and the breakfast was very yummy. No expense has been spared on the bed and bedding, which resulted in a very indulgent nights sleep.
