What was there not to like? Everything was absolutely beautiful, quiet, the hosts were so kind, there were so many animals for our small family to pet, view, and enjoy. We would definitely stay again. Dinner was offered, breakfast was offered, local products are available for purchase. We were upgraded to the pink room and it was absolutely magnificent.

Fabulous breakfast, lots of choice. Really couldn’t find any fault in all the varied food provided. The house is absolutely beautiful - clearly lovingly restored to an impeccable standard. I’d have no hesitation in booking a room at Le Verger again when next in the area. The owners of the property sorted me out with a restaurant to eat at over Easter bank holiday (no easy task), and even led me to the venue to make sure I didn’t get lost! Seriously going the extra mile….

It is a charming and stylish apartment, easy to find, and very close to the city center—smooth check-in and checkout. The host (Sylvain) was super friendly and kindly explained the city map. Highly recommended!
Great location, right next to the Volvic spring. Very nice hotel with a shared kitchen making it half hotel half self catering pension. The hosts are really nice and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and very clean, very quiet. Definitely worth a stay!
Great location and an older style boutique guest house, unique interior decoration, manager/owner is a bit eccentric but hospitable.
Very old-fashioned, almost quaint, but absolutely adequate room and amenities for a short stay near the center. Also very quiet. The host was very helpful and spoke English.

La Grenouille Noire is a gem, not the least because of its host, Chris. The rooms are splendid and very comfortable, the atmosphere homey and laid back, and the cooking fabulous. The pictures are 100% accurate; the village is quaint and quiet set in beautiful rolling hills. Chris is a fabulous host and cook, so whatever you do, don’t forget to book dinner in advance, which includes all beverages and a home cooked three-course meal. We intend to return with our friends, just for the experience!
