Anchorstone, guest house in Half-moon Bay

This spacious guest house will provide guests with a flat-screen TV, a seating area and an iPod docking station. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, a toaster and a fridge and there is a private bathroom with slippers and a hair dryer. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing.

Wonderful bed and linen, balcony to take in the picturesque views, and feed the kaka blueberries,well appointed kitchen, great bathroom, great ambience with the rainforest view out the rear window and spectacular view of Horseshoe bay at the front. The convenience and flexibility of having the use of a car for our stay allowed us to drive to the start of several walks and home at the finish and thus allowed us to explore much more of the island than if we were only on foot.Thoroughly recommend Anchorstone and would definitely stay there again.

    Great welcome to Stewart Island. The hosts were very hospitable, let us check in early, took our luggage to the ferry and checked them in for us. Accomodation was fantastic. Great location.

    It was a really nice hostel! Given the location on Stewart Island, we mainly just wanted to use the hostel for a place to sleep really. It was a pleasant enough stay, very quiet (given it's on an island) in terms of scenary. Though a bit noisy when people walk around as the rooms are surrounded by a decking / boardwalk so you can hear every footstep. Kitchen was sizeable and well kitted out. Bathrooms were spacious. No problems though truth be told. It was a really nice stay, thank you so much!

    Beautiful location looking towards the ocean and rainforest and surrounded by garden. Easy walk down into Oban - but steeper coming back. Great welcome from our hostess whose kindness extended to lending us her car to go into town on a couple of evenings - as well as picking us up from the airline office and taking us back there at the end of our stay. Comfortable quiet room and excellent breakfast.

    Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved seeing the kakas on the balcony of the unit and tuis right outside the front door. Hosts were amazing... friendly and helpful. Great location, handy to town.
