The hosts were friendly and helpful. Our room had 4 single beds, very comfortable for a family of 4 and enough space on the floor to put our bags as well. Shared bathroom just outside the room. The area is very pretty; it is surrounded by houses with beautiful gardens that are actually open to the public to view during spring and summer. The hosts allowed us to use their kitchen to heat up our porridge for breakfast.

Cozy house with lots of wonderful places to curl up to read a book or play games with friends. Very family friendly. The host was very responsive to all our needs.
There is an amazing supermarket close by so you don't need to cook but there are also good supplies for cooking your own meal.
TIP 1: To lock the door, pull the rear panel towards you so the lock can engage.
TIP 2: To get the fire going
1. Add pellets in the back compartment
2. Click the black button which is below a white cylinder (it'll compress the cylinder)
3. Light a pelletman firestarter (found in the brown box) and place it in the front area (just behind the glass)
4. Turn on the machine (it will blow air to keep the flame ignored)

Right on the slopes, and the staff was very friendly.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location, just 1 min walk to the cable car station and 30s walk to ski-rental shop. The hotel provided the rental discount coupon, only 2500 yen per day!
Hosts were extremely helpful and friendly.
They made sure we were comfortable with an extra futon, recommended vegetarian places, and showed us the onsen and where to rent equipment. It has a communal vibe, so extroverted people would love it.
Great location, 5 mins by foot to the ski lift, great sauna, staff removed snow from my car, good breakfast, clean and quiet room, great view of the forest
Great place to stay Taka, Oraphin and Yui are great hosts and we really enjoyed our time in Zao. The location is perfect easy access to #3 and restaurants in the village.
Lovely hosts, great location, clean spacious traditional rooms, electric heater available, nice view from the window, well appointed kitchen, and friendly dining room.
This is a fairly simple guest house, but the host is absolutely wonderful. We could not have been looked after better, and this made it our favourite place to stay during a 2 week trip through Japan. We didn't dine there in the evening (we had only booked for 1 night) but wished we had, as the breakfast we had was incredible, and I've no doubt the dinner would have been just as good. Highly recommended. In addition, the property is well located, within easy walking distance of everything in the village.
Our hosts were lovely! Fabulous drying room and great location. Japanese breakfast was delightful. Loved the collection of music equipment and eclectic wall hangings
